Nicole Ari Parker (born Nicole Ari Parker) is an American actress, who is employed in both film, television and the theatre. She was born and raised within Baltimore Maryland. When she was young, she demonstrated the desire to act. She was awarded the Best Actress Award at a Maryland High School Contest. Contractor had a great academic career in Toronto and also trained as a ballerina. Contractor She had been dancing for more than ten years at that time, decided she was ready to concentrate on acting. Upon graduating from high school she was awarded a full grant to attend at the University of Toronto, where she pursued a masters in theater and a dual major in psychology and sociology. After a single year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and was offered the role of lead. The play was well-received in the 92 plays which she was a part of. The play won her the award in 2002 for the Best Production of the Year by Canadian critics. The opportunity was presented to her to be a part of the Stratford Conservatory. It is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four women to take a course in traditional theatre. Contractor eagerly accepted. Contractor received a guaranteed slot for the following season. She was also offered the part as Hermia.
